Inspired by the majestic Rocky Mountains, Denver's new 2,000,000 square foot Passenger Terminal Complex was designed to be a memorable expression of civic pride and sense of place. When opened in 1995, it was the first major new airport to open in the United States; it covers about twice the size of the island of Manhattan; it is the USA's sixth busiest airport and the world's tenth busiest airport.
